Welcome. We are delighted you are interested in our Academic Engagement and Community Partnership initiative. This is a site directed toward increasing and sustaining Radford University’s growing emphasis on the development of significant relationships with non-profit organizations, governmental agencies, and business partners. We believe, “Global Solutions begin with Local Action.”
From our perspective as educators, we know that a quality academic experience for our students must include multiple chances for our students to engage in real time issues and work projects that are related to their studies. Our goal is that they will become both excellent citizens of our Commonwealth and the most sought after of college graduates. The Radford University graduate will be recognized for connecting scholarship with the community.
We have been listening to community partners for the last ten years and we are pleased to be able to focus our work by providing:
- A campus clearinghouse database of community projects and needs
- A mechanism for requesting assistance from a Radford University class or student
- Access to either one intern or a team of interns for significant research and work projects
- Ability to connect to student groups for a short term philanthropic and volunteer need
